Pheasant Season?

"Hey - what's that - you got a new truck? "

"Sure - we got rid of the Trailblazer and got a GMC Acadia."

"How does it drive?"

"Great - it even hunts pheasants...."

"What!?!?!"

Tank of Gas to drive home from Minnesota = $60

Snacks for ride home = $8

Smacking that fat bird (who I saw take off from the ditch, but it was too late to do anything) going 70 mph with the center of that new windshield = Priceless.....no wait - I guess NOT! Considering this new windshield will be worth a whole lot more than some bird. Not what I consider "pheasant under glass".

Honestly it was like an accident in slow-mo. No one inside was hurt - but I'll bet that bird had at least a splitting headache. (I didn't go back and look to see if it was still alive) - and actually Jakson didn't even wake up when it happened.

Chocolate Bunnies and Snow....

Happy Easter. We made it back from the great white north of Owatonna! Yep - we celebrated Easter with 2 inches of white stuff this morning, but the Easter Bunny made it to Grandma's house with his snow(hare) shoes. (ugh - did I try that pun out already?) The kids colored their eggs on Saturday in preparation of the great hunt. Jakson did his share and we all made it out with little staining.

Lightin' (McQueen) struck again (jeez who writes this stuff!?!) as Jakson found a new t-shirt in his easter basket.

The hunt was on and the kids all did pretty well. That bunny tried hard to make some of his eggs harder to find - but it must be the scent of chocolate or coins, or something that leads toddlers to the bounty. It didn't take long for the 3 of them to sniff out all the eggs that were hidden.

Aesa did her best to cope with 4 kiddos chasing, pulling and hugging her all weekend, but she eventually took refuge with me as the pack worked on divvying up the catch.

Jakson looking through his haul.

So -snow aside, the weekend was fairly decent. Now I have to go tackle Jakson and see if we can get him to bed, but I am afraid the sugar rush hasn't worn off yet!

Common Theme

Jakson loves going to Lowes for their Saturday workshops. They make it pretty easy for the kids AND the parents. You'll notice common them in the Lowes posts (it usually involves a tongue hanging out and some deep concentration).
